Last month I wrote about Sea Joy, a Liberty 38 cutter for sale in the Annapolis area. Today I received an email from a friend that there is a second Liberty 38 on the market.
(Update: Sea Joy has a new owner and is now sailing out of in Cape Charles, VA.)
Voyager, the Joe Fennell designed sailboat with the dark hull in the photo above, was launched in 1983 and was the first of six Liberty 38’s built in Riviera Beach, Florida by Liberty Yachts (USA).
Voyager has been maintained out of the water in Beaufort, North Carolina since 2010.
Each of the six Liberty 38’s has a uniquely custom interior while the deck layout and sailing configuration appears to be about the same. Voyager has a true v-berth forward and a quarter berth behind the navigation desk on the port side.
Sea Joy was hull #4 of the 6 that were built and she was launched in 1985. Sea Joy is on the market in the Annapolis, Maryland area.
The head on Sea Joy is located on the starboard side as you go forward from the salon into the v-berth with a storage area to port. There is no aft quarter berth. She is powered by a 50hp diesel where Voyager has a 37hp engine.
These boats draw 5 feet and are substantially built with a very wide, flat bottomed full keel. You couldn’t go wrong with either one if you are looking for an offshore, very comfortable, ‘takes anything you can throw at her’ blue water sailboat.

Hi Bill
How can I get in touch with you?
I'd like to chat about your Liberty 38, as I've had my offer on Voyager accepted
Thanks
