Look Captain, when transiting the ICW and you wish to relay a position to non professional friends and readers, , do it only by mile marker. You should have a hard copy cruising guide or paper chart that shows mile makers. Mile markers are also sign posted along the ICWW. In an emergency you should include GPS position.
Non-professional friends and readers don't give a fuck about mile markers. At the helm, I have the The Boat Galley ICW Cruising Guide flip chart (which is awesome), the Waterway Guide, and Active Captain on my phone. I have AquaMaps running on an iPad with Active Captain and the Waterway Guide layered on the chart. Bob423 is on every device. Today I contributed three comments to update Active Captain so YOU don't run aground next time you transit this area. I wrote that for my friends and followers, who are mostly non-professionals. I know where the fuck I am. I've been doing this for 40 years. Get off your high horse or unfollow me. Even better, post something yourself. Maybe we'll all learn something about welding or surveying.
I think Capt Mitch meant to say “professional,” not non-professional. 😂🤣😂
I’m at mile marker out in the Atlantic Ocean this morning. Now everybody’s very clear.
